Ximena Ferrada is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering at Universidad del Desarrollo, Chile, where she currently serves as Director of the undergraduate Civil Engineering program. She holds a PhD and an MSc in Engineering Sciences from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where she also obtained her professional title in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in Construction Engineering and Management.
Her research focuses on construction engineering and management, particularly knowledge management, project risk management, occupational health and safety, accessibility and habitability, and innovation in the construction industry. More recently, her work has explored health and wellbeing in construction workers and the application of artificial intelligence in industrial assembly. Dr. Ferrada has led and participated in several funded research and innovation projects in Chile and has authored and co-authored journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters in the fields of construction management, accessibility, safety, and innovation.
